2026 Columbia New Alumni Welcome / New Student Send-off Event

Dear Alumni and Students of Columbia University,

The <Columbia New Student Send-off / New Alumni Welcome Event> hosted by CAA Korea every June will be held on Saturday, June 27th at Yonsei University Baekyang Nuri.

This event is held to welcome new alumni who graduated from Columbia University this year and are returning to Korea, while also congratulating incoming students who will soon depart for the U.S. ahead of the fall semester.

Bringing together incoming students, current students, graduates, and alumni members, this once-a-year gathering is a meaningful opportunity to celebrate new beginnings and continue the lasting connections within the Columbia community.

During Part 1 (Orientation), alumni are invited to share their experiences and advice with younger members of the Columbia community regarding school life, careers, and life in New York. During Part 2 (Networking), we hope you will warmly welcome and encourage the next generation of Columbians in a more relaxed setting.

Participation fees from alumni members will be used to support networking and post-event gathering expenses for the event.

Full Members: KRW 40,000
Associate Members: KRW 50,000

Participants

(1) New undergraduate/graduate students entering in September 2026 (4 undergraduate and 18 graduate schools)

(2) Current undergraduate/graduate students

(3) New alumni who graduated in May 2026

(4) Alumni members

Participation fee (includes both Part 1 and 2)

(1) New undergraduate/graduate students who will enter September '26: Free!

(2) Current undergraduate/graduate school students as of June '26: Free!

(3) May '26 graduates (new alumni): Free!

(4) Alumni members: Full members (40,000 KRW per person), Associate members (50,000 won per person)

Important Notes

(1) No on-site registration / admission on the day of the event (only pre-registered attendees can attend)
(2) New students, current students, and new alumni must attend Part 1 to attend Part 2

(3) Parents of graduate students are not permitted to attend the event (parents of undergraduate students are permitted to attend under the Minority Protection Act)

(4) Incoming undergrad students who are minors are not eligible to attend Part 2_Networking

(5) For alumni members, you can attend Part 2_Networking only (but only for those who have pre-registered and paid)

(5) For alumni members, the participation fee is the same even if you attend only
Part 2_Networking (40,000 won / Full Member, 50,000 won / Associate Member)

3:30~4:00pm: Registration & Check-in

4:00~4:30pm: Opening remarks, President's welcome address, introduction to the Alumni Association

4:30~5:20pm

(IBK Corporate Bank Hall): New Alumni Orientation (Alumni Association Membership Q&A) by the Executive Board of CAA Korea

(Kwak Jung Hwan Hall): New Graduate Student Orientation (School/New York Life Q&A) by the Korean Graduate Students Association (KGSA)

(Helinox Hall): Undergraduate New Student Orientation (School/New York Life Q&A) by the undergraduate Korean International Society for Academics and Career (KISAC)

5:20~5:30pm: Part 2 (Networking) Venue announcement, closing remarks, group photo.

6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. (Sinchon/To-be-announced): Networking for new students, current students, graduates, and alumni members of each school.

(2) For alumni members, deposit 40,000 won (Full Member) / 50,000 won (Associate Member) to the account below immediately after applying (deposit the participation fee on the same day as the application!)
